extended family fun

Our adventures this weekend took us over the mountains to Parker to stay with Jim & LaDonna for a very special visit - Uncle Taylor was in town for just a couple days! It was so nice to get hugs and laughs with him while he was in the same time zone...
and the best part about us all being together was that on Saturday
we got to call Yaya on her birthday! If you look closely, you'll see all three handsets in use so everyone could send their birthday wishes to Yaya:
(it was almost like she was there!)
Then, per Hamp's insistence, the morning's agenda included
a game of football in the backyard!
It was so nice out, we then decided to try a little hike along the gully behind the property:
The whole gang!
Uncle T headed home after lunch and we had a nice afternoon at the movies (MegaMind!) and hanging out at the house! The boys were wiped out so after dinner we were able to get them to bed and enjoy a little adult time - some great dessert (cheesecake - yum!!!) and several rounds of CLUE!!!
~
Sunday morning was another beautiful day - so we wanted to check out the City Park before heading home... what a gret idea!!!
All the "kids" got to play:
And everyone got a turn on the swingy-thingy!
Then my boys decided to try the three-man slide.
By the looks here, I'd say Sam is a little hesitant about pushing off: Yep - looks like Sam waited to see if the others made it safely to the bottom!
Well, he eventually made it (on his own time, naturally) and then moved on to the rock climbing wall!

Hamp got into some climbing of his own:
And with a little help from Mom, Sam made it down the very big slide!
We got Hamp off the playground just long enough to have him snap a shot of the grown-ups!
THANK YOU Uncle Jim & Aunt LaDonna for a great weekend!
On the way home we stopped for lunch and a good stretch and I couldn't help but get a couple of shots of the Rocky Mountains in the background - they are currently snowcapped and we all got excited to see a few skiiers out already! In the car, Hamp says,
"We're the lucky ones, Mom because we live closest to Jim & LaDonna."
Yes, Hamp - we truly are the lucky ones!

  1. Uhhh... Uncle Jim & Aunt LaDonna??? Anyway, looks like a fun weekend! That last picture is absolutely priceless! If you weren't a Mayor or a stay-at-home Mom... you'd make a great photographer! And yes, Hamp was right... you guys are the lucky ones!
