to-do list

So... our well-scheduled, school's-out, summer kick-off trip to Florida was a huge success - we were able to check everything off the list:

1) HAIRCUTS!

I jokingly said that I didn't think Mojo & Dado would even let these two scoundrels in the house looking so shabby... but seeing as we swung into the "cool haircut place" on the way in from the airport, I might have been actually right about that! Regardless, they looked much better, got to play video games in the barber's chair(!), and were ready to move on with the vacation!

2) BEACH!

A trip to central Florida wouldn't be complete for most without a trip to DisneyWorld...

but for us, it's the beach!!!!!

Weather was great, water was warm, sun was shining (sunscreen was abundant!) and the drinks were cold! The best part was watching these boys take to the waves in the ocean...

bad news: they have no fear.

good news: they love the ocean!

3) PANCAKES!

There is plenty to do in Central Florida, and this time we took a morning to explore DeLeon Springs State Park and the freshwater spring. As neat as the park was, we really were just there for the pancakes! The old Spanish sawmill was turned into a restaurant where you cook your own pancakes at the table - what a treat for the boys!

With our bellies full of pancakes, we took some time to snorkel out to the spring and see where the water comes from, and then take a canoe ride out to see some wildlife.

Unfortunately, no alligator sightings this time!

5) BIKE RIDES & POOL TIME!

When we weren't gallivanting around cooking pancakes and surfing the waves, we stayed in the neighborhood and did one of two things: ride bikes or swim in the pool!

And when we combined those two things we ended up at the neighborhood pool for a day - snorkeling, making new friends, and getting ice cream treats from the snack bar!
