Tree hunt

This year, Hamp & Sam's version of a successful tree hunt was to find the first potential candidate and get it down and home within record time! There was no option for spending an afternoon hiking the mountains or having a picnic or exploring the forest or stream. Turns out, with no snow to play in or friends with us this year it was fine for just the 3 of us to make it a mission!

That mission had us hiking straight up the side of a mountain. By the time I caught up to the boys, they were half done cutting it down... and by the time I had caught my breath and took in the view, they were half way down the mountain back to the car!

But the mission was successful - a very nice tree this year indeed and sitting pretty in the corner, lighting up the room!

I have enjoyed getting our decorations out this year - including old Christmas Card photos and special ornaments that now share space with Hamp's Galapagos turtle, and the last of the San Francisco treats!

Next mission: get my Christmas Cards sent out before the end of the year!!!
