When my dear friend Peggy said she was going to be in Boston for the week and wondered if I would join her - I KNEW that I absolutely had to go.
We met in August of 1997 in Greenwich, CT and were instantly and eternally connected.
We lived together for 2 years in Connecticut.
Jason &I were at her wedding in France in 2003.
She brought her family to visit Meeker in 2012.
And, we notoriously never made it to visit her in France in 2017.
To make matters more serious, Peggy & family had visited the States already twice in 2 years and we were never able to get away to meet them. So I simply wasn't willing to let another opportunity to get together pass me by..... so as soon as school was out, off to Boston I flew!
The trip was just perfect! There were lazy mornings over long cups of coffee where we talked about everything from work to family to personal goals to funny memories! And with absolutely no agenda for our time in Boston, we meandered through the Back Bay neighborhood to window shop; sat in Copley Square and watched the people; wandered the Harvard Yard in Cambridge and spent the better part of two hours at the bookstore; strolled across the Charles River admiring the sailboats and kayaks going by! We enjoyed the architecture and the sunshine... and when it rained we browsed the shops at Quincy Market. We always found fun places to stop to eat and drink and talk some more. And when we were tired, we simply took an Uber home and went to bed! Our third day we escaped the city and drove out to Cape Cod for some quaint, small-town New England touring which included a General Store, a lighthouse and some time at the beach!
Here's to hoping we will see each other again real soon!!!!
Bon Voyage & Merci, Peggy!!!
